June 9 Wednesday 2010...In AUd 2,clash between part1 Law and Part 4 Accounting due to clash of Lectures at the venue. “Prof” SUG President as he then was, came around and the conflict abated while no lecture held that day.
June 21, Monday 2010......Philosophy coursePHL101 that was to Hold did not hold because it fell in Lecture free week. It was turned into an assignment that was submitted on the Course Exam day.
June 23,Wednesday 2010,D.J Jimmy Jatt, Denrele(regular comer),Funsho Adeolu and other Screen stars stormed OAU.
June 25, Friday, 2010-Ola Rotimi’s Play was staged at Oduduwa Hall and the Star appearance was Mamadou Dabate (an African Grammy award winner.)
June 30, Wednesday 2010, “we might accept Finite disappointment but never lose Finite Hope”. My accommodation became a reality after a semester long days of squatting.
July 6, Tuesday, 2010- a quarrel broke out in Angola
July 10, 2010- Africa( A student politician maimed by cultism his prime days. The era that followed his death led to a zero eradication of Cultism Empire in OAU. Bro Gbile Akanni – The respected man of God came for ministration at the Amphi theatre, His ministration lasted 2 days.
July 12,Monday 2010- SUG President was reportedly beaten with a fetish object that crippled his system. While He was hospitalised, OAU was peacefully destabilised. Even in the night Awo, Faj and every hall was wide –awake as if it was morning.
July 13, Tuesday, 2010- A congress held at Amphi theatre, for a debate over last night’s event. Then followed a protest at senate and some students alleged to be principal organisers of the Fetish Charm carnival were given a special type of SMS- severely maximum shishi.
June 15, Thursday, 2010-There was tension in Angola Hall, as Madiba Angola hall chair as he then was, raised an alarm over threat to his Life and calls on his fellow militants to come to his aid.
June 20, Tuesday, 2010- O.A.U Ile-Ife was first at The National Universities Debate Competition at UNILAG. She was represented by Debate Committee, Faculty of Law. Funny enough all the 3 judges that sat as Judges that waited till the debate ended were Great Ife Alumni’s.
June 21, Wednesday, 2010- Semester break began.
July 21 Saturday, 2010- I resumed back to school.
August 24, Tuesday, 2010-Something funny happened today. I was going to see a MOZ EXCO in MOZ but I had forgotten that until 4:00pm no male student is allowed entrance. But Oblivious of this, I entered Moz and when I got to Exco’s room and knocked; the Excos were threatening fire and brimstone, thinking that it was yet to be 4pm. But until someone drew their attention to the time which was 4:01pm, only then did they give me audience. In my mind I was grateful to God for this narrow escape from being Mr MOZ. Ooo Shy me.
November 27,Saturday,2010- Beautiful Nubia, Orlando Owoh, Yinka Davies and notable music stars stormed OAU ile-Ife. The initial fee =N=100 was slashed to =N=50, During the course of the show, there was a conflict as Some disrespectful Awo boys demanded that Beautiful Nubia should postrate before his show can continue, even having gained free access to the show. The refusal of the respected artiste led to their threat to disrupt the show, even as the Nubia came for the show without any payment. This led to various reactions who felt that the cultur of “DOBALE” HAS OUTLIVED ITS usefulness and was portraying Great Ife in the Bad light. ITwas vividly recalled that the Controversial culture started when In a show that Sir Shina Peters came which was seen to have sexually manhandled a female student and this infuriated the students who demanded a DOBALE as an apology from Him.
2010.....EXCEPTIONAL EVENTS....Manifesto gist
During Manifesto night, the fame of an Aspirant now SUG President F-JAY has grown to a sky scraping Height that whenever anyone including Madam DSA, shouted Of the Greatest Ife, The Response was F-JAY (loud and Clear); And immediately F-Jay finished his Manifesto Amphi rose to a Standing Ovation and students began to leave despite that a Candidate was yet to present his manifesto. FJAY was a onetime Angola Hall Chairman and his teeming militant admirers never disappointed him.
During Manifesto night, a presidential aspirant “provost” made his manifesto presentation as if He was praying and people were saying “amen”.
During Manifesto a Social Director Aspirant AY KAZZY, who later lost to a reigning phenomenon Wale Applause forgot or failed to DOBALE inciting rejection from Great Ife Students
During Manifesto, the present SUG P.R.O was seen as another Jacques as He held Amphi spellbound by his Rhetoric. Amazingly He won the election despite starting his campaign late.
The First Ever Great Ife Christmas Carol was held....
Angola had the best seminar for the Hall week as it had in attendance Saburi, Karl Marx and fellow respected Aluta Heroes.
Great Ife played Host to a lot of Politicians Including serving Governor’s in the likes of H.E Gov Raji Fashola, Nuhu Ribadu- a Presidential aspirant, H.E Gov Olusegun Mimiko, Gov Fayemi.
October 1st, 2010 Great Ife took to the streets to protest the current state of education in the country despite 50 years of existence
All in all 2010 recorded a high Number of fainting in Ajose hall due to over population of student and under ventilation in the said hall
